Well, I don’t know about you, but having company doesn’t make me feel any better about it!
Things I’ve noticed that cause acne:
- Stress! I tend to break out when I’m concerned about a situation at work or home. This may be the most powerful factor. And one of the most difficult to control.
- Diet. If I’m taking the time to drink 8 glasses of water a day, eat lots of fruits and veggies, and I’m cooking at home rather than eating out, I’ve noticed a pretty dramatic improvement in my skin.
- Exercise. I’m convinced that if I do something that works up a good sweat every day (and take a shower immediately) that this helps clear my pores.
- Products I use on my face. I’ve become very particular and generally don’t use anything on my face unless it comes from a very reputable company that publishes complete ingredients on the package. I avoid products that contain mineral oil, talc, and fragrances whenever possible.

Adult acne cure, there are a lot of solutions to the problem. These methods of treating adult acne go from homemade treatments, OTC solutions and diet.
Useful info, nice blog, thanks.
What is your take on using an oral anti-biotic to help cure adult acne? I’m a 28 year old with a moderate case of adult acne. I want my skin to be clear again, but I’m not a fan of taking medication. Going back to the dermatologist Friday so we’ll see what she recommends too.
Hi Joanne –
I’m not a doctor, so I can only speak about myself. I’ve heard that this is done, and I tried a low dose of doxycycline for about three months. Had no noticeable effect for me.
Since then, I’ve become concerned about resistant strains of bacteria. I don’t think I’d try an antibiotic again unless I’d tried everything else with no luck.
Let me know what YOU think!
Thanks!
