Have you ever wondered why it is that many people who have lost a lot of weight don’t look very healthy?
Their skin and hair have lost their elasticity and shine.
I know there are a lot of reasons to lose weight, health probably being the primary concern. But frankly my motivation is also to look good! And if I can’t look better by losing weight (rather than worse) then I’m not so sure I want to do that!
There seem to be a few keys to keeping beautiful skin while you lose weight:
- Lose weight slowly. 1 or 2 pounds per week.
- Stay hydrated. This keeps your skin moist.
- Use body lotion regularly, and massage your skin to help it shrink with your body.
- Don’t cut out fats and oils altogether. A little healthy fat (an avocado or some olive oil) are not out of place in a healthy diet.
- Get some exercise to improve circulation and keep moving.
If you do these five things, you will emerge from your fat loss journey without the saggy skin that undermines what you were hoping to achieve by losing weight!

Pretty nice post. I just came across your site and wanted to say

I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you write again soon!
Loved your latest post, by the way.
Super tips. I know myself that with age a person will notice the skin left over after weight loss than anything. To avoid this one must exercise while they lose and as you said slowly.
Hydrating ones body is the answer to so many ailments we are challenged with
Thanks for the comments, Sara and Dorothy! I know vanity shouldn’t be my main motivation for losing weight, but every bit of motivation helps!
I appreciate your regular drops.

I am unable to believe the number of quality content that is available on this website. Your website is extremely eye catching as well as drags people instantly in, the articles or blog posts usually are terrific quality and are really professionally written. I have observed too many of these sites where it seems like they pay an 8 yr old to do the writing – Not this place. Your website is easily the top which i have looked at in a long while.
